Can preview Galaxy S5 starting today at Best Buy

I just tried the GS5 at Best Buy. Back feels much better than GS4, it adds grip. For me, there was no noticeable speed bump from the GS4. Screen did look better than GS4, but not worlds better, just an iterative bump. TouchWiz much improved, menus make more sense. Didn't try the camera. Speaker seems weak, especially compared to HTC One. Could be important if you use your phone as a speaker phone, which I do. I guess I was expecting to be blown away, but I really wasn't.

Saw the S5 as well at a local BB. I liked the back much more than I thought I would...better than the ultra shiny one of the past.

Phone seems smoother and less laggy.

The only negative I saw is that when you're in camera mode, the video looks cooler (bluer) than either the S4 or the Note3. Of course it has 4K which is a big selling point for me, but the screen is definitely tinted cooler than it used to be (at least in camera mode).

Just got to play with the S5 at BB. Wow. It feels even better than I thought it would. Will read user reviews about the HTC next week but I am 99% sure the S5 is a slam dunk against the new HTC.

Just.left best buy and s5 looks way better in person in white I love the back color...camera was great...no lag..selective focus was very difficult at first..screen is very bright

So far the initial opinions look to be good. Kinda what I was expecting. Even though I must likely won't get the S5, it's the first Samsung ever that peaked my interest. I for one like the changes they made in design

Selective focus take too long to process, focus speed is slow and there were many times where it had trouble locking focus for me. Out of 15 pictures I took with it in the store 4 were blurry. I tried sending them to myself but gmail wasn't working right on it. It just never finished syncing.

Also, one of the two units they had "wasn't working right now" but they still had it out on the floor. It just wouldn't turn on.

The back is much better than previous Samsung phones, but is still hard plastic. Not a deal breaker for me though. The front looks almost identical to every other Samsung phone ever, but we already knew that. :)

Kevin, the BB sales guy told me the firmware was an unfinished one and they've been having trouble with them. He had no idea why Samsung would have sent them out for display with such premature software in them.

With that said, I had no issues with the one I was using other than finding the screen too blue while shooting video.

The focus issues you spoke of were pretty obvious in the videos posted from the Mobile Congress show.

You know that's what they all say right? ;)

The focus issues are also apparent for me on various other Samsung devices. I want it to be better, but I don't have high hopes it will be with future updates.

What other Android based phones currently take better pictures? I'd like to take a look at them.

Shutter speed and focus are priorities for me. The One, N5, S4, and Note 3 all have good picture quality for what I use them for.

The One is the "fastest" though. And that's the difference maker. I really wanted the S5 to fix this and be just as fast, but right now that's just not the case (and given the history doubt it will be fixed).

Hey,
Anyone see if it has an always-listening feature?
There are a lot of articles saying it does but nothing recent.
