can someone explain WIMAX partition

I understand partitions, but i was reading somewhere that it is important to at least make one back up of this partition and save it somewhere else (not on the SD card) so i would like to have some more info...

Its important if you are on teh Old School Evo. I dont believe that is so on the 3D. I have overwritten my WiMax partition multiple times.

Basically WiMax is your 4G Radio.
