I installed the wrong firmware while I was trying to root my device(Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition). After that, the screen said that it failed to install firmware and a black screen appeared. I 've tried everything but the screen remains black. Can someone help me recover the previous firmware?

Turn it off. Hold the Volume Down and Home buttons. While keeping them held, hold the power button. If it doesn't go into download mode, go to a Best Buy store if you're in the US and ask where the Samsung Experience desk is. Or if you're not in the US, see if your carrier can reflash the firmware for you.

How can I replace the firmware or just reset the settings? It seems like I 've installed the galaxy note 10.1 firmware instead of the galaxy note 10.1 (2014 edition).

Make very sure you have downloaded the correct firmware for your device, then boot into download mode and flash trough Odin using the latest version of odin (3.9).If you need more instructions search for " flashing custom rom to note 10.1 2014 using ibtimes guide". I find their guides well written and clear.

Thanks, but my note 10.1 (2014 edition) does not even power on. The screen remains black. It seems that I 've installed the galaxy note 10.1 firmware instead of the galaxy note 10.1 (2014 edition) firmware while I was trying to root my tablet. I plugged it in my computer and tried the "power + volume down" combination to get into download mode in order to flash the right firmware but nothing happened.

OK. I will charge it all night. Then I will try the key combination again. But, I think that because of the incompatible firmware the device is bricked.

Probably but it never hurts to try!

The first principle of flashing is >80% battery capacity. And do not try to boot into download mode with the cable connected to a charger or worse a PC, Only connect it once you are in download mode

I have the similar problem but I can turn on my Note and it works fine. I was trying to root mine and my laptop lost power. So my table still turns on and works fine, I want to flash to the OEM firmware..I have a Note 10.1 2014 edition. Does anyone have the firmware off hand? I know how to flash it and all I just don’t have the OEM flash file

Just go to sammobile.com/firmwares and search for this device's firmware.

I just got done downloading the OEM firmware. Are all Stock firmwares 2.2Gigs??? My Rooting firmware is like 50mb…is this all good or should I be concerned about something??

The reason the file was so large is because of touch wiz bloat. But 2GB seems kind of large to me even for touch wiz.

The LN1 United Kingdom Samsung 4.4.2 I downloaded on Monday was 1.9Gb but had no carrier bloat. So 2.2 is quite possible.

Think this problem is pretty much a recommendation for anyone attempting this in future to use at least KIES to back up tablet before proceeding with root... Or am I wrong in thinking it backs up operating system (ROM) ...

There is a clean and fast way to do it on Youtube using Odin, but since my dumb dog tripped over my laptop cable while I had the battery out of it, that’s my only problem. I can’t revert back to OEM..I tried the Sammobile firmwares, they ended up being 2.09GB not 2.2GB,they didn’t work..Luckily for me I still can use my Note 10.1 tablet I feel for the guy that has the bricked one…I was using Odin to load the firmwares, this is a correct method?

I tried the button combination again but nothing happened. Someone told me to try to hold power + volume up buttons for over 30 seconds. I tried it but the screen is not responding. I think that incompatible firmware bricked my device.
