Can someone tell me how to disable Facebook?

What do you mean "disable"? If you don't use it, then uninstall it. If you don't want it to update automatically, go into your accounts and uncheck the box that syncs data for the app.

Unfortunately you can't uninstall Facebook without being rooted, your best bet is to not log in and just make sure that nothing is set to sync for Facebook. There will still be some processes running in the background because it's built into the Sense framework with Friendster and the other Social widgets.

I would not worry about the processes, they are not eating any resources and if the memory is needed it will be collected and used.
