I do this on my Eris but my phone lagsss tremendously trying to open each app

google navigation
text messaging
web search or some other app/task

getting between apps is ultra slow. not only that but when im in navigation and i hit menu to add a layer or mute it the menu takes about 20 seconds to show

was wondering how good the incredible does better?

same here, the Inc is a truly amazing piece of hardware. Remember, it has the same Snapdragon processor that is in the Evo and the Nexus One

the only lag i've experienced occurs when an app installation is finishing up. even that doesn't happen very often, though.

definitely helps to have a solid processor & ample RAM.
