Can the Rezound really be a multimedia device? Battery?

I think everything is fine, as long as your not doing something on 4g, as far as battery life goes. Really, what smartphones do on the size of battery they get amazes me. I think 3,000mah battery's should be standard, and we should be amazed that phones are only 1/2" thick, not 7mm. Until we get some new battery tech (which may be soon) and can cram a 5,000mah battery in a phone, this is always gonna be a problem.

I totally with what you said. You can't have thin and battery life. There seems to be a lot of talk about the battery life. What is moderate usage? I have a spare stock battery for those times that it does not last. The 4G phones have the issue of poor battery performance. I on the other hand love the 4G speed. The more notifications you have, the more the battery drain one wil have.

If our society quits complaining about thickness, manufacturers would put in larger batteries to allow heavy to moderate usage. Well that is my two cents.

Errr.... who said the Rezound is thin?

I love my Rezound I was well aware of the battery not be able to power the phone all day with moderate usage. I purchased the extended battery at half price from Verizon, it does add some bulk but actually gives the phone a solid feel. My phone is lasting all day with no problem at all. It is a multimedia monster, if this is not the best android phone on the market, then I am sadly mistaken.

thats the problem, you shouldnt need 2 batteries for only 12 hours of moderate use. That type of usage is what they should have aimed for when it came to the stock battery. They should have put one in that could just make it through 1/2 a day of moderate usage, im not saying it should be at like 60% at the end of the day, it just should be able to last until you get home.

Yeah, I agree with you there.
When I first got the phone, the battery only lasted 5-6 hours. When I discovered that power settings and switched it to Normal, I now get between 12-16 hours of moderate usage, even with 4g enabled (Which you may have to do manually after changing the power setting).
I think I may still get an extended battery, but changing the setting doesn't hurt the performance all that much for most usage.

Get the extended battery. I can't see how so many people are ok with taking out all the cool features of the phone to conserve battery life. This phone rocks, especially if you chuck on the extended battery. I mean you are literally adding twice the power(which can be abused twice as much)

I work at a desk anyway so I always have a charger with me... and with these tiered data plans u can't do much streaming anyway without WiFi. 4G LTE rocks tho, I never got any 4G with Sprint and no service at all at work, so the unlimited data with them was useless. It's a catch 22. Either way you're losing something.

Just for some perspective on how far things have come when you complain about phones being thick, or battery life sucking. Google, 2007 laptop specs. Laptops had about the same specs as our phones do today.... just 5 years ago. Battery life was expected at 2 hours or less. And what was your internet speed in those days? I started working for the cable company at that time, our fastest internet was 7mbps down, and 512mbps up. I'm just saying.... Think about what is really going on with the phone in your hand, and look at that tiny-ass battery under the hood. It's pretty amazing.

I use the rezound as my work phone and in they gym. I can average 12hrs with Internet use throughput the day and at the gym consistent use of google music, google books, Internet browsing and netflicks when doing cardio. I have plenty of screen shots of 12+ hrs. Like I always say you can't expect good mpg out of an exotic sports car. So don't have the same expectations when you get the most powerful phone on the market. Just because the phone is smart doesn't mean you can be stupid with it.

Here's something I don't get... The Rezound is supposed to be this amazing multimedia device. What does that matter if the battery runs out quickly? I've only had mine a few days but can you actually listen to a few hours of music and still have a usable phone the rest of the day?

(and I mean without the extended battery)

Thanks!

Paul

you want an mp3 player?? Put the phone in airplane mode and then turn on just wifi. Battery should last you much longer...

Not sure its htc's fault. Battery tech has not changed in a long time. Put the phone on 3g only. Did that the other night at work and went from 10pm until 9am and only lost about 60% of the battery.
From what I've read, the gsm nexus isn't getting any better battery life than the rezound can get, pretty sure the lte version will be worse.

Lately, my battery life with the stock battery has been good. I don't know why, but it has lasted a lot longer. Phone is getting better by the day.
