can the slow write speeds be fixed?

Re: an the slow write speeds be fixed?

I got rid of my iPhone 6 Plus to get the Nexus 6. Might cancel my pre order of the Nexus to wait for a 64gb. Thinking about getting the OPO, what do you think of it?

For the money it's a really good phone. The camera is not as good as the Iphone 6 plus, but it's not bad in outdoor shots. The battery is really good also and almost on par with the Iphone. The screen is brighter than the Iphone, and Cyanogenmod 11S runs more fluid than the Iphone IMO.

The one negative is the lack of case selections from the manufactures like Spigen. You can get some fairly decent cases on Amazon but I don't like the selection. It works good with my Moto 360 also. It also has double tap to wake and other gesture features that you can turn off or on.

Re: an the slow write speeds be fixed?

Lol that one review made a phone no one has used or experienced for themselves yet a piece of crap. /sigh

Actually, it's more than two. They all said that opening apps was slow on the N6. This is a problem.

Re: an the slow write speeds be fixed?

There has been more than one review on this. Check out the channel "Geek.com" on youtube. It has a comparison of the boot time of the Note 4, LG G3 and the Nexus 6. The nexus 6 takes FOREVER to boot up.

EDIT: Replied to the wrong guy here, should have been a reply to deadp1xel.:p

Found this Qualcomm image on their site...

This definitely indicates that the dedicated crypto hardware in the 805 can be used for FDE. Maybe Google will throw a bone to these handsets in the future? More likely though is they wait for ARM v8.

Just wait until the Note 4 gets lollipop, and touch wiz lag gets added on top of encryption lag. LOL!

LOL, accidentally sammi is somehow able to make the same size of battery last longer, I wonder why you are assuming they can't make it faster.... considering google is still playing catch ups with many elements that TW has been offering for years.

TouchWiz is heavily optimized. A Note 3/4 with all the heavy bloat still lasts longer than Nexus 6 with pure Android, ART, Volta and all the fancy new stuff.

Also a Note 4 GPE has less battery life than running TW, debunking the myth.

It's likely the display accounting for the extra battery - possibly not having encryption enabled too. Anandtech indicated that the display in the Note 4 is likely newer tech than what's in the Nexus 6. Can't rule out different NAND either.

The display panel is old tech, lacks brightness, color accuracy and uses too much power, thus the poor battery life. Here's an update -

https://twitter.com/nexusCFX/status/533296010999889920

"For anyone who's wondering, I re-ran the battery test on the Nexus 6 on the updated firmware and as expected there's no improvements."
"It should also be noted that the panel uniformity means that half the panel is actually below 200nits. I could have been less kind"

Also so far it seems Google doesn't use the hw chip on the 805 and also may have slower NAND flash.
