Can you Backup a Droidx?

Hi im coming from blackberry and was wondering if you can back up a droid. For example, i can back up my blackberry so that if mine ever dies i can get a new one and back up the entire device so it is identical to the previous one i had.

just in case you're too lazy to click on the link, android devices basically backup everything (aside from texts and locally stored data (photos, music, etc) in the cloud.

once you sync with google all your contacts and calendar data is there. it's one of the things i really enjoyed when i first left blackberry, if i changed phones, before i even left the store all my data was back on my phone, no need to sync with a computer.
