Can you block ICS update?

Hi, as most of you know i have signal issues after updating to ICS. I have a new maxx sitting in the box that still has GB on it. Is there a way to stop ICS from being forced on the phone without rooting. I know it will force download ICS to the phone, can I just keep denying the install ICS.

If your rooted you can freeze the updater using titanium. That's what I did. There may be other ways, not aware of any tho.

I don't know how long I'll be able to put it off, but whenever my MAXX tells me that the update is available I'm given the option of "Install Now" or "Install Later" (~24 hours). I keep clicking "Install Later" and for now I'm still on GB.

ICS might be great, but I'm happy with GB right now and would prefer waiting for patch to be released. When I have my phone set-up exactly how I want it and it's working well, I'm not in a hurry to update. That's just me.

I don't not sure if you are aware, there is a .215 leaked update that many have said it helps their signal. I know many have had problems with the data before and after ICS. I would try the leak as laid out in another thread.

Thanks, I've been following that in the other thread.

Right now my plan is to wait until the official patch to be released, see how people do with it, and then consider updating to ICS. I'm still really liking GB and the way I have it set up, which is perfect for my needs. I guess that's why I'm in no hurry to switch to ICS.

I just hope my MAXX lets me continue to say "Install Later" when I'm reminded about ICS.

Previous updates for me have arrived in the middle of the night so this would not work as I need my phone on 24/7. But glad to hear its working for you. A more permanent fix is to freeze the updater, but root needed.
