Can you change the view on GoogleMaps?

Maybe I'm missing this somewhere or it just doesn't exist. The default view of GoogleMaps is the perspective view. Is there a way to change it to a top down view? My brain seems to process that view a little better.

I dont ever recall hearing of a way to change the view to simulate what a GPS unit does in Google maps. I just use my Sprint Navigator on my EVO.
Hey, its included in my plan, and i use and abuse it when i get lost or go somewhere new.

As far as I know google nav does not have 2D view while driving. Lets how they add that option when they come out of beta.
