can you do 3d maps with google 5.0

Not all cities have 3d building data.

Like jrs said, it only works in some of the larger cities. For instance I live in Ballston Spa, NY which is about 40 minutes north of Albany, NY and I don't get 3D buildings until I reach Albany.

There's a setting that also allows 3g but its not on by default.

You have to be zoomed in pretty far before the buildings appear.

Aside for not being able to rotate the map, GM 5.0 works. I have the Telus Facinate running 2.1 (rooted).

that's not true, I'm not on wifi and I get 3D maps... just gotta zoom in pretty far to see it.

Yep, another reason we need FroYo. Google is really pressing the issue with the latest updates regarding FroYo or newer.

That would explain it. My wife kept asking what I was doing when I tried to rotate things.
