So I'm wondering if it's at all possible to get a virus from browsing on chrome on android. I admit I'm a bit virus/malware paranoid, but I'm worried if it's possible. I did do a factory restore so wouldn't that have dealt with it if I did have one?

Anything is possible. Doing a factory reset should clear it all out. I use Firefox as my browser and install the adblock add on to insure that no random pop ups to install something get by me. Other than that just be aware of the sites you visit.

If you don't download and then install anything and aren't on the shadiest of sites it is nearly impossible to get a virus. Viruses require user complicity in most, if not all, real world situations.

And even if I did go on a shady site (i didnt) wouldn't a factory reset clear out any virus or whatever anyway?

A factory reset should clear it. Besides whenever i navigate some sites with chrome it warns and ask me if i would like to download an .apk, which generally are malware, you just have to cancel/say no to it.

So I did a lookout security scan and it said no threats were found. But even after a few factory resets I can't help but feel I still have a virus or malware. Probably just my anxiety, but I should be good right?

You are good, I wouldn't worry about it anymore.

OK. I guess it's just my anxiety then. I assume lookout would have found anything wrong. Right?

As he already said yes and the format would have wiped everything. There is nothing to worry about.
