Can you get the screen protector removed at a Best Buy?

Hi Folks:

Received my Fold 2 yesterday from T-Mobile. I really don't like the feel of the large screen with the protector on. Its just too sticky for smooth operation for me, and it's a fingerprint magnet. Since Samsung says to go to a Samsung Store to get them to remove it, but the closest Samsung Store to me is 5 hours away, does Best Buy with a Samsung Experience area count? Will they do this for me even though I didn't purchase the phone from them?

Alternatively, would T-Mobile themselves be certified? Finally, do any of you know if removing the main screen's protector makes it more difficult to then return the device within the return period if I decide its not for Me?

Thanks
T1

You can call Samsung and find out if best buy can or maybe ask if ibreakyoufix can also because they certified Samsung repair center .

Thanks. The first thing I did was check with Samsung. I couldn’t get through by phone, but did speak to a rep by Chat, and rep said he believes Best Buy is certified. But he wasn’t certain. Good idea wrt ibreakyoufix. Thanks.

Your welcome!

I wouldn't go to BestBuy to do it.. You might as well just do it yourself it's not hard at all... I would wait till you are sure you will keep the phone.. That's just me thinking...

The screen protector can be removed by carefully pushing a sheet of standard printer paper under the corner of the screen protector from the corner of the screen. This will lift the protector from the screen. Now, slowly and evenly peel the film from the screen with your hand.

Thanks. I tend to agree, although unfortunately how it feels without a screen protector may well be the deciding factor for me. I dislike how this feels enough to possibly return thr phone. If I remove the protector and find the screen to feel much better (which I've read several folks far prefer), that may be the factor that makes me keep it. But I'll try it for longer first based on your response, and perhaps if I don't get used to the screen feel, will remove the protector the day before the last day to return.

I think it's a good idea give a go for a bit longer since you've not had enough time with device.. I feel totally different comfort wise now from how I felt originally. Myself the screen protector doesn't bother at all..clean it once a day I'm good ..but everyone is different...I'd hate for you to remove and if you scratch it before return they might give you a hassle ...just some thoughts..

Though they may not notice, is it returnable without the screen protector?

So, the answer here is that Best Buy won't do this for me, and T-Mobile will accept returns if it's removed but the screen isn't damaged. I haven't tried ibreakyoufix yet. But Best Buy's display model has the protector removed and its way, way nicer.

Thanks for your advice.

Based on the instructions it sounds easy enough to do.

So Samsung states that any damage caused by removing the screen protector is not covered under warranty but what about any issues after it has been removed by the user? If I remove it myself but later on have screen issues will Samsung say I voided the warranty by removing it myself?

Update: Got clarification from Samsung chat support that you won't void warranty by removing it yourself.

Is it just me or is the front screen protector nice and smooth, but the large protector when opened is tacky and rough feeling?

No it's not just you. I'm fact I've removed the center one but not the front one. This phone is so much nicer to use without that sticky center screen cover.

I too think the outer one feels like its almost not there, the inner is definitely more tacky feeling. It really doesn't bother me, leaving it on.

I really don't understand why have a decent outer and crappy interior for a phone that costs the earth (well about £1800 anyway!).
On previous phones I've had, I have always put a new glass screen protector (except for the Note10+ as that was decent) but wondered why they didn't offer a decent one installed for another £10 as an option.
Yes, even though I have never dropped a phone I couldn't take the change of scratching one.
Funnily enough I have had a glass one on my missus's and sons phone and both have dropped/scratched it and I have to change it - just not careful eh.

I didn't even know there was a pre-installed screen protector on the outer screen and main screen. I put one on each lol but then removed the main one because it would tear at the same spot twice.
