Can you root WITHOUT a computer

Anymore these days I either use my phone or iPad. I have a gpad 8.3 on the way. However I'd like to root it when it arrives. Can it be done without a computer or will I be SOL.

I needed a PC to root mine but with KK on it now I am not rooted anymore. Not sure there is a root method for the KK release yet.

FYI: LG won't let you apply an OTA patch with root you have to revert back to stock first.

OK thanks I was just considering root but nowadays I'm not sure one needs to root. Seems like to much of a hassle.
