Can you run nookie off SD and use the SD for storage?

I've got a NC running rooted stock rom and was looking into nookie. I got nookie working fine but when I use win32diskimager to make the bootable nookie .img on the sd card it only shows a couple mb of total space on my 8gb card. Is this normal for win32diskimager? Should I be able to use the sd card for both or only the nookie. Thanks for the help.

You have to use EASEUS to expand the SDcard partition to take advantage of the unallocated disk space.
