Google message app OP usingWhat messaging app are you using?
I've always been able to send MMS messages with my Galaxy S23+ (w/RCS Chats turned on; although honestly, I don't know if that matters ), (as well with previous Galaxy's) over Wi-Fi, with data turned off, using the Google Messages app.I was able to send MMS messages on my Pixel 6 with the data turned off and the wifi turned on. I have never been able to do this on any Galaxy device and that is one of the only features I loved about the Pixel.
I used the Google messages app on both devices.
Aww, okay, interesting; didn't know that.Yes the RCS chats work over wifi, but that only works with other devices that have it turned on. With the Pixel, all picture and group messages were able to download over wifi and it didn't have to come from a phone with RCS turned on.t
UPDATE
Tested with mobile data off.
T-Mobile wifi calling on
Google messages with RCS
Both regular texts and MMS sent correctly. Tested them separately.
Previously w/AT&T and now w/Xfinity, I haven't ever needed to use Wi-Fi Calling, So in fact, have never used it.I swear I remember sending MMS and texts over wifi alone on T-Mobile with wifi calling at work while mobile data turned off, a year or longer ago. My work is basically a faraday cage so that was the only way I could send and receive messages at work. This is well before RCS.
