Just curious, if I wanted to do a presentation regarding EVO/Android apps, could I stream the phone 'desktop' out through the HDMI port or is this used for video output only?

For what we've seen so far, video output only. And only on apps that explicitly support hdmi out.

Thanks, I thought so. Droid newbie. I'm sure that an app will be written for this, no?

I have answered this question before, you can not use the HDMI to do this yet, but there is another solution that I have used many times for presentations on a computer with a projector. Let me look for it...

Can't find the thread here, but I found a similar one on phandroid:
Remote desktop from PC to Android ? - Android Forums

just download the root app at:
unrevoked
then install 'picme' from the market and follow the directions

It works best if they are both on the same wifi and using local IP's.

PicMe works on Evo WITHOUT rooting. Just install it from the market. When you open the app it gives you an address, just type that address in your computer's web browser and you will get your phone's screen on your computer screen.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate sharing the info. New to Android and still trying to get my legs up under me. Still looking for answers on my Sip thread if you guys have any insight.

Thanks Again!
