Can you use a s3 charger to charge the Galaxy watch?

Can you use the s3 frontier charger to charge the Galaxy watch safely? I've heard they are the same charger.

I upgraded from a Gear S3 Frontier to a Galaxy Watch, and when I tried charging the GW with my old charger it gave me a "use original charger" message, and the watch got a bit too hot for my comfort while charging. So I do not do this.

Strangely, my Gear S2 charger worked just fine with my Galaxy Watch.

I got lucky and found a gear s3 charger original on amazon.ca for $50. It's been charging good. I got the message "use original charger" the first time then it went away. Watch is not getting warm at all.

I get the use original charger message when trying to charge my watch on the back of my s10+. If I move the watch around or remove and put back on the phone it starts charging without the message.
