Canadian Nexus 4 Ordered On December 3rd - Order Status and Tracking

That is true. I have heard Google ships Nexus 4 in batches to specific areas at a time, rather than who ordered first, second, third and so on.
I ordered my nexus 4 on 03-Dec-2012 15:31:31 EST, and got a shipping estimate of 6-7 weeks. Which I was fine with, because I heard people that ordered in the states on November 27th were getting there phones much sooner then expected. So I figured I would get mine around the first week of January.
I decided to e-mail google to check if they knew the exact date they would ship the phone and this is the reply I got 2 days later.
Orders are shipped based on the estimate in your order confirmation email.
Once an order has been processed you'll receive a second ship confirmation
email with your tracking number. It may take 24 hours for the package
tracking to return any information for your tracking number.
If you have not received a package tracking number after the time quoted in
your order confirmation email, please let us know.
According to our records, your order should ship by the evening of January
23.
Neuxs 4 backorders: Please note that the above date is based on typical
shipment processing and does not apply to Nexus 4 backorders. Nexus 4
backorders are being delivered based on the order in which they were
received. If you receive a shipping confirmation email, then you will be
able to track your delivery.
They said it would ship on January 23rd. Which is 7 and a half weeks. I'm not sure if this is a generic date they send out to everyone in the 6-7 week group or if its just my bad luck. It could also be that there behind on the orders in Canada, seeing as how no one has received shipping info yet, while in the states people where receiving shipping info 3 days after ordering.

This is what I got today.... I replied asking whether it was a generic date and could possibly ship earlier... so I'll wait for that reply...

I got the same email with the estimated 1-2 week ship date:

So it seems they just add a few days to your worst case shipping estimate and send that out as a generic email. Not very helpful information from google, but at least now I know I wont actually have to wait that long.
Same thing here, got the 1-2 week estimated ship and got the same December 19th ship date from the email. Hopping that it'll be earlier maybe even next week crossing my fingers.

Damn... i was able to have the order placed by 3:08PST... and i got the 3-4 weeks shipment time... which is crazy...
Problem being i need the phone by the 18th of this month before leave the country i need to give it to... heres to hoping google can come thru... or some other shady link works out

I got 1-2 weeks and they wrote that it will ship by December 19. On the 20th i'm flying out of the country for a week so if i dont get it before it will kinda suck
I have a feeling at this point they're giving out generic worst case dates. At least I kind of hope so.

Really hope you are right. If the 1-2 weeks is true then i guess we will start seeing shipments starting Monday.

I agree. I think the date they are stating is the delivery date not shipping date. I ordered on Dec 3 and got 1-2 weeks. They emailed me a date of December 19th which is exactly 2 weeks + 2 days shipping.

Ye, i imagine they received A LOT of emails from a lot of people about the shipping. They dont want to give you a fix date so you wont be able to complain later again
