Cannot change Notification tone for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

For the life of me, I can't assign a notification tone (text message). What am I doing wrong? UI 6.1.1 changed things around again.

I'm going to follow. I don't see that option in Google messages, which doesn't surprise me that much. I found a video on how to, but all there is change the ringtone, no notification option.

Settings / Notifications / Advance settings/ turn on last option

Yeah Google Messages. And I found it. It's not in a traditional area like we normally change it.

I turned on the option for "Manage notifications categories for each app" I still don't see an option to change the notification for text messages in Google Messages

Long press the message app>tap info>notifications>notifications categories>incoming messages tap and change

I'm going to be the one that says it...... This is about the dumbest thing I've seen Google do. I mean, WTF. How would the average person ever figure out all those steps. How difficult can they make this, it's like they went out of their way to make the process of setting a ringtone for text messages to individual contacts as difficult as possible.

I just checked the process of doing this on my iphone... Even apple made this process a simple one. Apple is usually the one who makes simple things difficult, several steps.

Ok rant over, but Google stop this madness

Yeah too many settings to go through and notifications categories is off by default
