Cannot Connect to CPU

I cannot connect up my phone to my computer anymore. Not sure what has changed, but it just says unknown device. I've reinstalled the Samsung driver files several times now. I try to go into device manager and USB Mass Storage device is shown in the USB controllers but it has error code 10 - this device cannot start. Anybody have any ideas?

Remove the drivers, restart the computer, change usb ports. Try again.

Tried that...no luck. When connecting up to the computer just to view/edit sd card, does the USB port point to a samsung driver or a windows driver? Mine is pointing to c:\windows\system32\drivers\USBSTOR.SYS Not sure why its 32 driver when Im running Vista 64 bit. Try to change it but no luck.

Update...So I'm able to get the computer to recognize and install drivers with USB debugging on, but I still cant mount to view USB card. No popup window comes up or additional drive shown on computer. It keeps giving me a USB device not recognized error without USB debugging on.

Make sure you're installing the correct drivers. I've uploaded them for you here.

After you plug the phone into the computer via usb, drag your notification bar down and tap on USB connected. Then tap on the Mount option.

Make sure USB debugging is set to "off".

I noticed that you did say, "anymore", so you could at some point? What have you changed?

Did your phone ever connect? Mine did, so I think its the computer. What drivers does your phone referencing when mounted up?

Also worth trying is hooking your phone up to another computer. If it works on a different comp, then it's probably a computer problem.

If it doesn't work, then, well.

This is like VooDoo and playing the Hokey-Pokey! I have had my Samsung Fascinate cabled up to my Win7 PC and my WinXP and working ONE TIME. Then the phone is not detected. Mount This - Unplug That - Debug Off - Debug On - Unmount That - Reinstalled USB Drivers.. Again - Power the phone Off - Disconnect the USB Cable - Drink some eggnog - Cable In - Power Up the Phone -And then you Shake it All About...
I'm tired of trying to get this phone to reliably connect and be usable on one of my 2 PCs. I have Win7, 64bit on one and WinXP, 32bit on another. Neither one of my machines will connect correctly with my phone. I have had them connect once.. and then nothing.
I have read many posts, I have tried many things more than once. Lucky for me - my phone won't fit into my shredder ;-).
Is there someone who has a real handle on this nuttiness? Does anyone know the real answer to this problem?
Merry Christmas - pass the Eggnog...
