Cannot get access to my mails

My HTC One (M8) ran out of power, and when recharged I tried to access my mails. But when I press the mail icon, I get into the "Select a mail provider", and cannot pass . I then tried to create one of my accounts, but it tells me that that account already exists. So they re still there, but I cannot get pass the setup screen. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Apps>All, select the email app, and Clear Cache, then Force Stop. Then try again.
