Cannot get move2sd enabler or link2sd to function properly...

Anyone know why I am able to format using these commands while in recovery:
mke2fs -m0 -b4096 /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
tune2fs -O extents,uninit_bg,dir_index /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
e2fsck -yf /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
tune2fs -o journal_data_writeback /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
tune2fs -O ^has_journal /dev/block/mmcblk0p2

BUT then when the phone is on (booted), I can't run e2fsck at all. It displays "not found". It would be very helpful if anyone can give me some info as to why I have the latest busybox installed and am getting errors like this. I also upgraded to the Xionia kernel in order to enable ext2,3,4.... I don't know where the disconnect is...

Just to clarify, I'm not doing links2sd. :p This has to do with formatting and some commands not working while the phone is booted. Is Reborn ROM unable to do these things? Is that the issue or is this something that I can enable another way?

This thread is interesting, and it is a crappy rainy day here. I may try this out today. Lichan also has some things I am looking into.

I will post back.

+1. Whenever I get a break from school I'll try this.

been trying to figure this out myself but to no avail, found a script on the optimus v gave it a try just for giggles, run through but after reboot I still have the same amount of space on my phone so clearly not working.

I originally partitioned and formatted my sd card from recovery (xionia), when that failed I also plugged it into my linux box, confirmed both the partitions were there and reformatted the secondary as ext4 so that shouldn't be the issue lol

For data2SD:
Problem is with the Rom not recognizing the ext. Try flashing the script that lichan linked.

For link2SD:
Following the link2SD and data2SD worked for me.

The thread linked by lichan is one of the ones I had been looking at previously but was unable to complete the process, this was why I had tried the scripts from the optimus v forums. As for the links2sd I'm not nearly as interested in lol

Those commands aren't included in the Xionia kernel but are in the Xionia CWM recovery. Go to this XDA thread

[DEV][DATA2SD] More space (and more I/O) for your Desire (Updated/EXT4/Flashable ZIP) - xda-developers

and at the bottom of the first post is zip with all the programs which you can flash in recovery, called e2fsprogs-arm.zip.

I tried a script specifically for the Optimus line up. This one:[MOD]Interactive Data2sd + [04-25-11 update] - xda-developers

It returns this error in the logcat when booting up:
I//system/xbin/run-parts( 64): mkdir: can't create directory '/mnt/asec/d2sd/sd': No such file or directory
I//system/xbin/run-parts( 64): chmod: /mnt/asec/d2sd/sd: No such file or directory
I//system/xbin/run-parts( 64): chown: /mnt/asec/d2sd/sd: No such file or directory
I//system/xbin/run-parts( 64): mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 on /mnt/asec/d2sd/sd failed: No such file or directory

I//system/xbin/run-parts( 64): vm.vfs_cache_pressure = 10

Any input is appreciated. I formatted to ext2 using my linux machine at 1gb on the sdcard...

I am sorry I have been hella busy lately, I will try this myself with some tinkering on scott pilgrims cm7 mod

There are versions made for cm7 builds so it may be much easier to get it to work. I am currently running reborn Rom however I may go to zefie's cm7 build if it doesn't have too many problems to see how this would all work. I would link the cm7 one for you if I wasn't on my phone. It's on the page that lichan linked. Somewhere on that page is a link for the newest file and it will take you to the page that has the newest version compatible with cm7 builds. :) good luck!

Check if your kernel has the ext2.ko module in /system/lib/modules. These are similar to the errors I got when the kernel I was using did not support ext file systems. I don't guarantee that's the problem but it's something to look into.

I've been having similar issues, also on reborn. I just checked and I am showing ext2, 3 and 4.

Have all 3 ext modules listed under that folder...

I got data2ext to work using the data2ext. Cyanogenmod thread from xda. The commands and flashed the. Ext4 zip. The creator My internal memory is a point 94gb because of this new SwiftKey beta. I. Flashed aospcmod-vm670-20110601-signed

Sweet. I never needed a swap especially since the optimus is so small.... Not much of a personal computer IMO lol

Yeah. I like to hoard Apps. So having the gig of internal memory is nice. When I first got this phone I kept on getting the cannot receive text messages because your internal memory is too low.

Ok yea that makes sense. Nice to see that its working now :)

lichan, I am kinda late to the party here but looks like I am having the same issue as you with not being able to see the ext*.ko (* = 2, 3 or 4). I have tried every partition angle possible it seems, ext2, ext3, ext4, with default cluster size to 4kb cluster size, did you find away to work aroundn your issue? on my optimus s i have am running VD with 2.6.32.9 kernel

UPDATE: formatting my partition as FAT32 and using link2sd seems to work
