Cannot play text messages while using Smart Audio Book Player

My phone is the galaxy S8 from T-Mobile. The phone is running Android version 8.0.0. So my problem is as follows:

I am playing an audio book with Smart audio book player. I get a new text message. I say OK Google and then say play last text message. The phone responds with "asking smart audio book player to play text message. Obviously, I do not want smart audio book player to play the message because it has no ability to do so. So the question is.. How do I ask Google to play text messages while listening to an audio book with smart audio book player? If there is another player that would work better, I would be very interested to know about it.

Updated. My problem is solved. The phrase "Play last text message" is not a Google Assistant command. So the command tried to play a book with the title "last text message". So I will spend more time with the Google Assistant docs before posting another question.
