OK this is kind of a trivial concern, more annoying than anything. If I go to text this radio station (105.7 the point) @ 48258 an error code pops up saying "Message failed. Shortcode may have expired(which it has been the same # for years so no it did not) or shortcode may be blocked on your account"

OK I think this is the same issue a guy on here was having a few weeks ago, where he would go to text a # without the area code and it would not go thru. Called HTC customer support and the guy there was super helpful. He said it's either an Evo problem (because he text the # just fine on his Android phone(not sure which one with Verizon) or a sprint issue. I don't see how it would be a Sprint issue because on my BB with Sprint I could text this number all the time. . . . . .

Anybody know a way around this?

i can shortcode just fine on my Evo, i send texts to Redbox regularly. Have you called Sprint to make sure you arent restricted from shortcodes? Sprint was/is having an issue about short code hacking and incorrect billing so they might have blocked it. Oh, BTW GO RAMS!!!!! (originally from STL myself)

just ask the rep if you are able to access premium content text messages, if not have them enable it. I see it every once in a while, especially with phones that have the Sprint ID.

"premium content text messages" So, does that mean an extra item on his bill to send a text to that number? I always wondered about that.

it refers to the ads you see on tv and other things like "text this message to this number to get this ringtone" and to enter into sweepstakes like Deal/No Deal, or in OPs case texting something to a radio station. That stuff is considered Premiuim Content Messaging because there could be a Recurring charge because of it.

That makes sense, because about 6 months ago I was getting billed $10 a month for some celebrity gossip message that kept coming to my phone so I called Sprint and they dropped the charges but I bet they dissabled the premium message on my account to stop it.
