Cannot tether to Galaxy S7 from Mac, always says incorrect password

I'm trying to use my S7 to tether but while I can pick up the mobile hotspot it simply refuses to accept the correct password. I have changed the password five or six times, rebooted both the S7 and the MacBook Pro but no joy. Can connect to my HTC One M7 with no problems so I don't think it's a Mac issue. I have it set to Allow all devices to connect. Any suggestions?
