cannot use speakerphone when mounted on car kit

I have had the innotraveller car kit for a few weeks now. I realized last week that when I mount my Evo, I cannot use the speakerphone function because the microphone is covered by the base of the mount and people can hardly hear me. Has anyone else had this problem, any solutions?

Wow, I just looked at it and it looks like there is no fix due to poor design...looks like your out of luck and $50.
