Cannot use while charging

Battery low so I plug it in. Tablet freaks out while doing anything. Things open, close. Also it doesn't gain power but continues to drain battery.

Anyone else have these problems while plugged in?

1) Are you plugged into the wall or a car/computer?
2) Are you using the cable that came with the phone or a third party charger?

It was the wall usb plug charger. I thought I had grabbed the Nexus one but it was an older one. I swapped it and N7 is working fine while charging, even gaining power.

Use the Google-provided wall charger. N7 needs high charging current (greater than 1.3 A). Should be able to charge and play just fine. I do this all the time.
