Can't access my phone

[Android Central Question]

I recently sold my phone. I factory reset it before I sold it and the person who bought this phone can't log into their Gmail. It says unable to sign in because the password was recently changed and that we must wait for 24 hours. I did wait for 24 hours but it's still the same. Please help

Welcome to Android Central! Before you did the factory reset, did you go to Settings>Accounts and completely remove your Google account? If you didn't, then Factory Reset Protection will kick in, and that user is probably being prompted to enter your Google account and password.

If you did completely remove your Google account before the factory reset, then it's probably an issue with the buyer's Google account.
