So I get my phone today and called. They are saying that they are working on their system and cannot activate the phone? I asked if the 4g and 3g scanning and toggle will be fixed and he said yes. He said to call back in 2-3 hours. I am going nuts but maybe some issues will be fixed.

Argh!

HAHA what a small world. I got mine today and I called about an hour ago and they told me the same thing. I was at work all day and found out it was at my house ready for me at like 12 PM eastern. I was looking forward to playing with it since then.

I share your pain dude. It def is a pain in the butt.

Oh and the system updates are within verizons systems, not the thunderbolt's system. The rep you spoke to might not have known what they were talking about (seems it is a 50/50 shot when trying to get a competent customer service rep).

Pull your battery and slide out the sim then re install all and turn back on, its going to work trust me.

Thanks for your input. I wish it was that easy. We are both waiting to activate the phone though. You have to activate the device by calling verizon and giving them your information. I'm going to try calling in a few minutes and see if their system is done updating. I'll report back with my results.

This will work but first dial 18009220204 call from a non verizon line.. Punch in the phone number you are calling to activate the T-bolt on, then its going to ask you if your calling to activate your new phone? Press the number option for yes and after you hand up the call do what AndroidXTC mentioned above. Hope this helps

You misunderstand. All of Verizon's activation systems are down. It isn't a problem with their phones, its a system-wide problem with Verizon.

what do you mean by pending order? I did mine online, and had to accept contract terms and conditions

When you activate by phone you have agree again that you are extending your contract and agree to it.

Ok I just called and my TBolt is now activated. Time to play with my new toy :D

It's nice to hear that they are updating the system. I called today and talked to tier2 support for about 45mins about spotty 4G coverage in a 4G area. 3G wasn't working either. I wasn't able to receive email or use the web or web related apps. Or the market for that matter. I hope this fixes some of my problems as well ad everyone else's. The tech told me that the engineers would get right on this cuz the TBolt is a new device
