Can't back up photos and videos with Samsung Smart Switch

I want to back up my S4 to my PC using Samsung Smart Switch, but it won't back up the photos and videos on my SD card because "Videos (sic) files are hidden by a photo/video locking app, and will not be backed up. Unhide the files before backing up."

I really don't know what is hiding the photos and videos. How can I unhide them?

CAn you see them in Windows explorer? You should be able to coy and paste. Did you install any sort of privacy app?

I think it may simply be a case of a very badly worded message that ought to have said that only some of my photos were hidden. I was confused because the backup was much small than I would have expected it to be and because I couldn't find any of the photos and videos from my SD card. I've now found the backups of those photos and videos in a different place from where I had been expecting them. So I assume that the hidden photos are a few related to particular apps and therefore not important.
