Hi, I just got my TB Saturday and love it. But, when I try to buy apps on the market, I get a server error. Is this problem on my side or Google/Verizon's? Could it be because of the fact that I do not have a credit card registered to main email I put in when I was first setting up the phone in the Verizon store?

Also, I have a random question: Why does my Market's layout look different than my friend's (who also just got a TB)? Hers is more colorful and has adds at the top you can cycle through while mine is just a plain list type layout.

Thanks!

you might want to try callin VZW from another line so they can verify if you are set up correctly in the market, or go to a VZW store.

Can you access any websites? If not make sure mobile data is enabled under settings mobile network , also it sounds like you have the old android market. That happened to me and I had to do a factory reset to get it back, although clearing he cache helped others.

clear the cache
diff markets isn't unheard of---clear the cache & when it connects to the market it should prompt for an update of the market

and yes--you need a credit card registered with your account to access the marketplace

possible future answer: you can't change the default email addy registered to the phone WITHOUT factory wiping the phone (losing everything).

Well, as the title suggests, it is "buying" things that is an issue. Not simple access.

Well now, I guess I wasn't paying attention, now that you mention it, it wouldn't make sense that the OP couldn't login and see their android market was different than their friends, huh?:D
