can't connect to Gear Icon X earbuds

I can not install the Gear app on the tablet as it says it does not support the tablet. In bluetooth settings, the Icon x appear, but the message comes up that they are unable to pair. Any suggestions?

Without the app I don't think you'll be able to connect to them It's like an Android Wear watch... you can see it on the BT Menu, but without the Wear app installed, the device won't know what to do with it so it won't connect.
