How can I force my phone to use SBC instead of AAC?

I disable the HD Audio in the developer settings because I want to use SBC, but every time I connect my Bluetooth earbuds, it automatically switches back to AAC. How can I stop it from doing this? Both my phone and earbuds support SBC and AAC by the way.

The reason I want to do this by the way is I have read that AAC is poorly handled by Android as it is meant for Apple, how it sounds better on SBC for Android, and I have personally somewhat noticed a slightly better soundstage than when using AAC.

I am a able to use SBC, but if I reconnect my earbuds another time, it automatically switches back to AAC/HD Audio. I wanted to know if it was possible to force my phone to default to SBC so that I don't have to manually switch it off every time.
