Can't connect to internet on phone?

Well I am not so great with my new phone, but I am getting there. Well anyway, I was trying to check my email at school on my phone and it says I can't connect. I have data activated, have the 4g data package. Should i turn on data roaming? I am in NJ, USA. Is there a solution to this? I have tried going into airplane mode then out again, but no luck. Yesterday it worked fine (I had wifi on) so is there a reason it won't work now?

There is a Verizon Outage atm. It is being worked. Its not you -- its them But they aren't breaking up with you.. they just need some time away to think about the relationship.
