Can't connect to network outside of US with TMobile device

I've been travelling to Europe (Amsterdam and Vienna/Austria) and in both places I can't connect to any network. It shows an 'x' on the signal bar indicator.

I have data roaming turned on. I also tried to search for network operators and after the 'search' completes it didn't provide any errors but just goes back out to the menu where I can pick 'search for operators' again.

Is it possible to roam with the TMobile Gear S watch? or is the bands that it uses is still the 1700, which is unique to US Tmobile?

All Gear S watches are dual bands only. So, US versions won't work outside of North America and vice versa. You need quad band support for this.

The European version uses GSM bands 900 and 1800, the US version 850 and 1900. Sucks for sure - it's the first dualband phone I've owned in over a decade.
