Can't Delete an Email

I have a Nexus 5 with Android 6 and my email client is GMail. My Nexus receives emails from three accounts: gmail, POP3, IMAP. I received an email on the POP3 account and I can't get rid of it. Every time I go to check my email the same blasted email is there. It shows in "all inboxes", "inbox", and "unread." No matter how often I read it and delete it it's still there. My incoming server setting for the POP3 account says to delete from the server when deleted from the inbox. I did a "wipe cache partition" and it's still there.

The offending email was sent from a Hotmail.com, now Outlook.com, account.

Any suggestions?

What if you delete the email on the Outlook.com webmail site?
 
Thee problem is on the server. If deleting it on-line doesn't work you'll probably have to contact Microsofo
 
As Crashdamage said, that strongly suggests a problem with something on the server side. I'd give it a couple of days and see if it resolves itself.
 
I finally disabled my GMail, reinstalled it, reloaded my accounts, and now it's clean again. Thanks.
