Can't download a picture from a text message.

twilite2000,
It sounds like you're describing the behaviour that occurs when you have an MMS pending but you're currently using a WiFi connection - you have to have a mobile data connection in order to get that download to progress.
You can leave both mobile data and WiFi enabled if you like and it will just default to using WiFi unless something like an MMS comes in - if that happens, you'll briefly see both the WiFi icon and the 4G icon show up in the Notification bar.

Thank you so much. It waa exactly what was wrong, and easily fixed

Thank you so much for your advice. I had called the 02 helpline and didn't really understand what he was telling me to do but your explanation that I needed to use the mobile data made complete sense. Now I can read the text, which was very long, and respond to my friend who I haven't spoken to in AGES.

The pic does open in the text msg. at all.
I cannot even see it let alone show it to someone else.

I fought this issue for 2 weeks after I got my Blu Studio Energy XL. Finally fixed it by setting the APN Protocol and APN Roaming Protocol to IPv4. All other apn settings as recommended.

Hey guys! I SCOURED the Internet and at least 10 forums before the light bulb went off in my tiny pea brain and I CALLED MY SERVICE PROVIDER. Guess what? Your service providers are constantly updating their end of the software, but not all phones will automatically update! So, I use Net10 and a Hauweii Pronto phone and this is exactly what happened. Some two or three updates ago, I was left behind. It is because of the BRAND of my phone in relation to the licensing of the provider service OR THE APP- that's the simplest explanation I could get from Omar somewhere in Asia. I had used HandCent, Signal, Messenger, Google, etc. and it didn't matter because the STOCK APP was out of date.

So, as painful as it may seem, call your provider. They will walk you through all the advanced SMS settings and check your version of the OS and they will FIX THIS. I am so glad I finally bit the bullet and called them.

If your provider doesn't know what to do, TELL THEM - your phone's SMS settings are out of sync with your provicer.
Oh, and I did have to revert back to the stock app. Meh... I'll take it!

I am having same problem, can't download pic mms. I am using unlocked sprint device with cricket SIM.
Is my only option a third party app?
