Hello all, I'm looking for some help. I bought 3 new S8 phones and all 3 are having problems downloading files using the stock web browser. I get a "<untitled> download unsuccessful " message.
If I use chrome, I can download the files without issue.
I have cleared app permissions, attempted safe mode, cleared cache in downloads and download manager, ect.
Playstore works ok.

I prefer the speed and layout of the Samsung browser, but can't get it to download any files.

does anyone else have a similar problem or a solution?

thanks!!

Welcome to Android Central! Did you also clear the cache/data from the Samsung browser?

Does it have permission for stoorage access?

Adguard.com will block ads very nicely.

Anything we should know? Where bought, Google Play Store works, got a couple updates.... and was set up as new, restored, copied from old phone?

Sorry for the delay. Phones all bought at best buy, sprint service, smart switch from s5's, all updates applied.
They do have storage permissions
I have also cleared samsung browser cache. No luck.

My bet, importing from the S5 sometimes different OS. And set it up as new, don't restore and see how that goes.

update!! now i am able to download with the samsung browser, but not from password protected websites like work email. i have not changed any settings to cause it to start working. i am still able to download from the password protected sites if i use chrome.

B. Diddy, to answer your question, it was/is happening over both wifi and mobile data.

I have resolved it recently. Just follow few easy steps.
Go to browser>Settings>Downloads>Download path
And set the download path you'll get access to your downloads.
