Hello all. I got a Nexus 10 for about a few months? now. It's always had some trouble with WiFi. I got tired when it wouldn't connect at all and downloaded a wifi fixer from the playstore, it worked for a while, the wifi still crashed now and then. Now it connects, says authentication error, re-associating, disconnected, and repeat. Its not usable anymore for anything wifi-needed.

Whats going on?

Also a side related note:
We have a lot of devices, do we need something to extend the area and the number of devices we can use? Mom says its because theres too many devices. Also it started doing this after I changed the wifi password to something else. Comcast xfinity modem.

Review this guide and see if any of the tips help: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...roubleshooting-wi-fi-connection-problems.html

Which Xfinity modem are you using? Those combo modem/routers can be a little glitchy sometimes. I recently got an Arris modem/router for my Xfinity service, and found that the default security was set to a combined "WPA/WPA2-PSK," which actually made the wifi signal invisible. I had to change it specifically to WPA2-PSK for all of my devices to start seeing it.

I personally don't like to use the wi-fi modems provided by the ISP, I find I am get better control and performance using my own separate wi-fi router.

Depends on what you mean by "a lot"...?

Most household wifi routers have a limit to the number of DHCP addresses they can assign, when that happens, you'll usually get a time-out when connecting and the dreaded 169.x.x.x IP address. The limit can vary from device to device (I believe Linksys wifi routers have a standard limit of 50), and the amount of assigned IPs isn't always just active devices, but also any reservations that haven't expired yet. To check this, you can power-cycle the router which should clear the existing DHCP database and start allowing devices to connect again.

Um lets see.
- Desktop (Gets internet through a usb thing)
- My Laptop
- Nexus 10
- Nexus 7
- Droid 4
- Droid Razr Maxx HD
- iPhone
- Microsoft Surface RT
- 3DS (Not connected always)
- 3DS XL (Not connected always)
- Wii U (Not connected Always)
- Xbox 360 (Not connected always)

Yes the modem is Arris. Only the Nexus 10 and my laptop have issues with the wifi. I did the pen reset button on the back twice before with this issue, no help there. How do I do alll that special stuff?

You have to log in to the router using your desktop browser. The address is the network address (something like 168.192.0.1, or similar--mine is kind of odd, in that it starts with a 10). Default username and password are usually printed on a label on the back of the router. Tell us the model number and we could search for the manual to give further instructions on how to modify router settings.

Knew how to log on but thanks. This all started getting worse when I logged in and changed the password for the login and the wifi, before I connected the Nexus 7.

We looked online and decided we should try enough than the one Comcast gave us. Our problem has been getting worse and worse.
Though its not just our WiFi. I brought my Tablet along and it wouldn't connect there either.

Model number is: TG862G/CT
