I just got an LG K10 from AT&T and I can't find a pre-installed app. Anyone know if a way I could search for it?

Settings... Apps... You should have three dots / more or similar in top right corner. Tap that and select show system apps... Every app on your phone will be there.

Is it possible that it's hidden? Try in Nova settings - app & widget drawer - hide apps - scroll down that list and make sure the app is there and unchecked.

The app is not in that list. That makes me think it's not even installed. That's weird that a pre-installed app wouldn't be on the phone.

Also, see if you can find any widget related to that app after you long press an empty spot on your home screen and then tap 'widgets'.

Can you see it if you switch back to the stock launcher? Is it listed in the Nova Activities section? You can check this out adding a widget and then selecting the Activities tab.

By the way, which app is it?

The stock Launcher won't show it, It's as if it's not on the phone. I can't open the app. I shall try making a widget for it so it can show up as a recent activity. The app is voice recorder.

Try using QuickShortcutMaker. It will display all apps and activities so long as they're on your device. It has a search function as well, but if you can't find what you seek, the carrier may have removed it from the firmware. Verizon is notorious for doing this, but I am uncertain of other carriers policies.

Lol, I knew AT&T was at fault. They ruin every phone I get from them. I haven't even been able to root the last two phones I got from them.

Thank you for your help.

Hahaha. Did you manage to create the widget and run the app? Which method did you use? Your experience will be very useful for other users with a similar problem.

I downloaded that shortcutmaker so I was able to do all that but I can't figure out how to get it to show in my app drawer for future use.

I don't think you can. It's just a widget for an specific activity, so if you remove it from your home screen you'll need to repeat all the steps to create it again.

Some activities don't have shortcuts for a reason. My Avast Mobile Security & Antivirus removes it's shortcut after setup, and is then only accessable by dialing my security pin in my phone. There is an option in QuickShortcutMaker to create a shortcut, but it does say that it may not work for all apps.
