Can't Find the Phone Encryption settings

My gf has the Sprint G2 and she has an option to encrypt the entire phones data. I just bought my AT&T G2 and I do not have this option. My daughter has it on her Atrix, am I overlooking something in the settings?

Refer to pg 109 of the user manual. You must first set up the screen lock using a pattern, pin, or password. After you do that, tap the applications icon, then settings, then location and security. Then tap encrypt phone.

Where do I get a user manual, the one included was ony 30+ pages. But I do have a pin, but I have no option to encrypt phone. Does anyone else have the same issue?
