My only option for changing anything to do with my notifications is when I go into the Twitter app, then Settings>Notifications. There's no option for me to change the tone.

Okay, you made me install Twitter, just so I could find it. As Joe said, twitter menu: settings > notifications > push > ringtone, then scroll all the way down - it's next to the last item in the list.

I got a refurbished Verizon GS8+, set it up, installed Twitter and now the option to change the notification sound is gone. It was under Push Notifications. The notification I get is the same as a text message, so I disabled push notifications for Twitter. I've gone through every menu item and the option for notification sound is gone. Any have an idea on what happened? I'm thinking Verizon broke the notifications so it's not available in Twitter for some reason.

So I have a Blackberry KeyONE on Android 7.1.1 and a Pixel 2 XL on Android 8.1.0. Both are running the same version of the Twitter app: 7.47.0.

The KeyONE shows the "Notification Styles" section at the bottom of the Push Notifications page (options are Vibrate, Ringtone, and Notification light). The Pixel 2 XL does NOT show that option set on thePush Notifications page.

So it's not the Twitter app, its something with Android 8. I checked the app permissions on both phones and they are the same. Anyone have other ideas of where to check to see if its an Android 8 setting that's blocking the Twitter app from showing the Notification Styles section?

I found it - Settings > Apps > Notifications > App Notifications > Twitter and then you have to sent the sound for every individual notification action (DM, Emergency, News, Followers, etc.). Yeah, that's easier ... ??????
