OK, so I have been trying to root for a long time now having let Sprint push me to VD. I finally found a thread that shows me how to revert to V9 so that I can root.
This worked fine and now I have a rooted V9.
I wish to install RebornRomv2.2.4
Apparently I have to update the radio to VD.
I am following instructions on this page
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...-optimus-s-vd-w-out-losing-all-your-data.html
And am stuck on step four.
4. Run the LG updater tool to update your phone to the latest VD baseband
The LG updater tool says I have the latest version and no need to update.
The tool even says I am on V9.
What can I do now?

download titanium backup, backup everything using that app, then if you havent already install a custom recovery, then flash the gingerbreaked stock VD rom then from market, download titanium backup and restore all your apps (click the launcher button-next to home button and select batch-restore missing apps with data)

That still leaves you with the V9 radio running VD software. Which is BAD and causes major headaches.

You never needed to revert to V9 to root, please update using the carrier-pushed OTA updates (ONLY if you never installed a custom recovery) to VC, then to VD. Then use the rooting guide in the stickies (which does not mention having to revert).

Unfortunately I have installed a custom recovery. The Sprint push will not run saying it cannot be verified.
By the way, is there a way to trigger the Sprint push?

Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Updates

Shoulda just used the Gingerbreak thread ;) No need to revert any longer... (We had to do that back in the day when VD was still relatively.... only a few months old)

But you may have to go back and install the original Recovery. (not too bad a process)

Yea, I did that back before Gingerbreak. I will try to update with the original recovery (using LG Optimus Control Center). Thanks!

Thought I was home free when it downloaded vc update, then rebooted to install. NO DICE!
I get this message E:Failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Any ideas?
