can't get data connection/data restriction problem/tried all the tricks mentioned here already...

Hello everyone

I run Android 7 on a Samsung Galaxy S7. I usually have set my data restriction to 1 GB as my plan has this limitation. I have booked additional data plans (2x 1GB) last week for my holiday abroad. Now my Galaxy 'thinks' I have used all my data already (1GB) and wont let me use my data connection anymore (outside WiFi). Here's what I've tried already:
-Set 'start billing cycle' to today (to 'reset' the used data to ''0'')
-Set the data limitation to 100GB (instead of the usual 1GB)
-Allow all apps to use unrestricted data
-Mobile Data is on, of course

Anything else that I should be aware of to switch on/off?

yes, multiple times, and tried each thing also multiple times. Even told the mobile operater to reset my card, nor success :-(
