Cant get into recovery (please help)

I want to thank everyone who helped me. I am formatting the card right now and we will see how that goes. Hopefully it will work. Thanks again.

It sounds like the whole rom didn't fully load. If you're not able to flash one of your backups to get your phone to a working state... use the MR1 RUU.
Here: http://www.multiupload.com/KU7GSF2EY0

It will put your phone back to stock and replace any files that are missing and you will still be rooted. You load it through hboot. Same thing as flashing a radio file. Rename the zip file to pg05img and place it on the root of the sd card.. boot into hboot.. fastboot.. and the file will load up returning your phone back to factory conditions but you will still keep root access. From there on... any roms you decide to flash, use Clockworkmod recovery through ROM Manager... don't use the install from zip command in ROM Managers app.. its known to cause problems.

Delete the pg05img zip from the sd card when you're done.

Agreed that's a good option

Thank you! I will try this right after my card gets formated. Hopefully one of these options will work.

Ok, well I have tried both methods with no luck. I first just put on Titanium and my backup files from ROM Manager on the formatted SD card and tried to restore by going into hboot...recovery...backup and recovery...etc. It wouldn't let me even get to the part where I selected the backup file before it rebooted and started the loop again.
I then took the file that you gave me "http://www.multiupload.com/KU7GSF2EY0" that I downloaded and put it on the root of my sd card and named it pg05img . I then went to hboot and it automatically recognized it and asked me if I wanted to update. I said yes and it did its thing. When it was finished it asked me to reboot. I did and got the same loop that I have been getting. This time it goes from the white HTC screen to another white screen for a split second that says "htc quietly brillant" on it (could be wrong, but it was a split second).

I thank eveyone for the responses and suggestions. Does anyone have any other ideas for me to try.
Thanks is advance.

Update: ok, I decided to rename the file just in case and went back into recovery. I deleted all my other files on the sd card so I just had the pack that you gave me, just named it different. WHen I went into hboot...recovery I got a screen that had a green arrow pointing down with 2 green arrows on the side of it. There was a phone underneath it. After watching it for a while I figured it was just because I didn't have anything on the sd card. After a little while it went back to the loop. Wasn't sure if this was important info or not.

Can you confirm that it says s-off at the top of the screen when you are in hboot? As opposed to s-on.

Nvm I guess if you can get to recovery thru hboot you most likely have s off. Not sure what you should try. You don't think you have time before the.phone reboots to flash a new ROM cleanly? Nope I guess since you could not restore the backup. You may want to try to unroot, but this may be premature at the moment. It's late and I've been drinking, let me think about it and maybe someone else will have something :)

It does say s-off. Could it possibly be my radio? Do I need to possibly update to 1.13.605.7 instead of 1.16.00.0402? I don't know. I have just been doing alot of reading and it seems that the radio could cause some problems.

Update: I put back all the ROM Manager files back on my sd card. When I went to reboot, I got a cell phone picture with a Red Triangle and Exclamation mark on it. Any idea what that means?

Reading this is making my head spin... I guess to jump back into this I have a couple question...

Are you still stuck???

Can you at least get the hboot screen???

If you can get to the hboot screen, what ROM do you want to load???

It is making my head spin too and making me want to pull my hair out as well. :) I am still stuck and have no clue where to go. I can get to hboot screen, just can't go into recovery anymore after formatted my card. I really don't care what ROM. I wouldn't even mind unrooting and starting over if possible. I just want my phone back. The problem with the ROM is I can't get into recovery anymore (red triangle with exclamation point) and even if I did, it reboots on me automatically after about 15 seconds in recovery. I also don't have enought time to do a factory reset (starts rebotting after about 15 seconds). The only thing that it will let me do is the update from fastboot with the pg05img file. For some reason I can stay on the hboot screen all day.

Thank you for taking this up again for me.

What's on your SD card now??? Sounds like you have a PG05IMG.zip file on there already... and that is probably what causing your problems.

I renamed the file that I put on there to restore my phone to stock that the moderator gave me (no longer pg05img) and the clockworkmod folder.

Is there a way I can get the phone to say s-on? I am thinking of just trying to take it back.

Ok, Thank you! I read the whole post and it looks like I will have to get my phone to turn on to do some of the things. Could I just download the file PG05IMG_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.12.605.6_Radio_1.16.00 .0223r_NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release_174685_signed.zi p
and then place it on the root of my sd card with a card reader, rename it to pg05img, and then go into hboot...check fastboot...and update?

Hopefully that made sense.

OK, I'm almost at the end of my knowledge and you might need someone else... I've never unrooted my phone. It does look like you have to boot the device up to get it to unroot the phone... so you might need to flash some type of ROM to get your phone back up.

Thanks! The problem with flashing a ROM is that you have to go into recovery (correct?) and it won't get be enough time to do that before it starts to bootloop.

Well, I think I am going to download that file, put it on my sd card with the file name pg05img, go into hboot, fastboot, and update. Hopefully that will do something for me. I don't think it could make it worse.

Here's what I suggest at this point. It sounds like it would be best for you to essentially "start over", so now you have more knowledge and won't mess anything up the second time around :p First of all, go here and attempt to bring your phone back to stock, unrooted. If that goes well you should be golden from there. Then go here and use the Auto-Root process to reroot your phone. FOLLOW THE STEPS TO THE T. Once that's done, download Rom Manager, flash clockworkmod recovery, and make a backup. Call it "Stock Root" or something like that. Then, once that's done, go here and download the OTA MR2 radio. Check the MD5, flash it from HBOOT, and once that's done, delete the PG05IMG from the SD Card. At this point, you should be good to go. Find a ROM you like (I recommend the BAMF 1.8.6 Remix if you want something stable), check the MD5, put it anywhere on your SD Card (I have a ROMs folder on mine) then boot into recovery and flash it. Hopefully the unroot will work, if not, the rest of this post is kind of useless huh? :)

Just so you know... the MR1 RUU (pg05img.zip) that I had you flash in hboot is the first file out of the two that you need to flash to unroot the phone back to stock. I saw that someone posted this link for you: [HOWTO] Restore to stock for root users and non-root users UPDATED 5/17/2011 - xda-developers
What I gave you is the first part of that procedure (brings you back to stock) the second zip unroots you back to s-on.

I'm surprised the MR1 RUU didn't fix your phone.. good luck.. if I think of anything else I'll let you know but that should have wiped your phone clean. You were saying something about maybe having a corrupt file on the sd card. Can you delete everything off of the card (put it on your computer for now) and try the zip I gave you again.

Thank you! I actually wiped my card clean by formatting it and then I only had the zip file you gave me. It still didn't work. I am also having trouble downloading the zip file from the link that you and fatboy97 gave me. I don't know if it is my computer or the file. I am continuing to try them as we speak.

Since these pg05img files arent working I think you will need to reflash recovery thru hboot, I will find you the img when I sit down at a computer in a few min. Not sure why the root enabled RUU file that cyber warrior supplied ya with did not work, tho.
On second thought you won't have time before the reboot starts. There will have to be a way to solve this in the bootloader I guess.
Do you have another SD card you can trywith the mr1 RUU?
