Can't get period on double space

Can someone help me out please. I can't get a period on double tap of soace bar to work. I have checked all settings and can't find it. I'm using a stock keyboard.

I've unchecked everything and it still comes up on double tap. Clear data and see if that helps.

How do I clead keyboard data?

Menu Button from Home Screen: Manage Apps; All, Android Keyboard; Clear Data.
