Can't get phone into case?

Bought a Speck CandyShell glitter case for my s7. But I cannot get it onto my phone. It' so tight I am terrified of damaging my phone, etc. Has anyone has this happen/know what I can do?

Remember these are made of glass!
I used to push the device through the hole for the camera to remove the backpack case and the back glass cracked! Be gentle...

I can't get it on, let alone get it off!

Structurally the phone is strongest around the edges, so pressing around the edges, working your way around as it were should be ok. If it's the case designed for that phone, surely it should go on one would think.
