Instead of using the "update.zip" option, have you just tried using the "Install zip from sdcard" ?

Sorry if my wording doesn't exactly match your CWM, I have an Epic 4g.

Edit: I'm not positive here but using the CW from the Market will not work, I believe you need to follow the CWM installation steps in the rooting sticky here in the Fascinate section, post #2.

Follow the troubleshoots, I know this method has worked time and time again.

lol well the screen went black so i unplugged like it said to and i booted into a blue recovery and couldnt do the updat.zip......again..got a droid with the triangle and !

First a few questions...

You have the Samsung drivers downloaded and installed? Then you plugged in your device with debugging mode enabled and allow the composite drivers to finish installing in your computer?

Once the above is met, and you connect up with Odin is your device being recognized in the COM:ID box on the upper left? Usually lights up yellow with some numbers in it.

Then you downloaded the "tar" file as stated in the instructions

Hit PDA button and then selected the "tar" file you downloaded to be used.

If you have met all the above conditions then you may need to wait for one of the Fascinate users/mods/advisers that are familiar with the process to help you further with the troubleshooting. I can't do much more as I'm on an Samsung Epic 4g.

Hang tight friend, help will be along soon enough.

Ah F yeah got it going...loaded into red loader then applied update.zip and then went orange...o yeah im good im good lol...thank you for your help now to figure out how to flash roms on this bad boy

well dont use install sdcard:update.zip, if you are using ED09 you should be fine.
directions for flashing any zip be it a rom or kernel can be found here
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...-clockworkmod-recovery-w-screen-captures.html

if you keep reverting back to blue recovery the reason is because you are using a stock verizon kernel.
this can be fixed by placing any ED09 compatible custom kernel on your sdcard. then flashing cwm via odin again. then after flashing immediatley boot into recovery and flash the custom kernel this will keep cwm booting up everytime

in post #3 it doesnt say anything about a roms folder...... there is no such thing as a roms folder unless you make one and place the roms in that folder.

usually roms are placed directly on the sdcard not in any folder. although if you choose to make a roms folder to place the rom in that will work aswell
