cant hear me.. :-(

Hi folks,

HTC one x, now rooted and running cyanogenmod 10.1 and only yesterday applied the RC5 update (whatever that was). Everything else on this phone has been working fine from the moment i got it (2nd hand phone).
Unfortunately, I only noticed this recently (as I dont make a lot of calls), is that my sound comes out very very low at the other end, sometimes they other person can barely hear me even when I am talking loud at my end. This could very well be a hardware problem but I want to know if there is a way to increase my sound input without me shouting on top of my voice or if this is a problem someone else had and fixed it, please advise.

I should mention that when I put the call on speaker and I speak, the other person can hear me fine, no problem. It's just when speaking normally when phone is against the ear and not in a speaker mode, the other person can't hear me.

also, using sound recorder apps, my voice does get recorded but it's not loud enough unless I speak directly to the microphone hole at the bottom of the phone.

Any ideas, anyone?
